Before we arrive
How to prepare
- 1Finish all trades work first
- 2Remove tools and materials you’re keeping
- 3Turn HVAC off during the clean if possible to limit circulating dust
How it’s done
The three phases of post-construction cleaning
| Phase | When | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Rough clean | After major trades finish | Debris, packaging, scraps and heavy dust removed |
| Final clean | After fixtures and finishes | Detailed clean of every surface, inside cabinets, fixtures and floors |
| Touch-up | Just before move-in or handover | Dust that settled since the final clean, smudges, last details |
Smaller remodels usually need just a final clean. New builds and large remodels often need all three.
Construction dust
Why construction dust keeps coming back
Drywall sanding produces very fine dust that floats for hours and settles on every horizontal surface, inside cabinets and in HVAC ducts. That’s why a regular clean right after construction looks good for a day, then dusty again.
- Replace the HVAC filter after construction (and again after the final clean).
- Keep the system off during sanding and during our clean when possible.
- Clean top-down: vents, fans and high ledges first, floors last.
- Plan a touch-up a few days later if you’re moving in to a new build.
Details
Residue we remove
Paint specks on glass and hardware, grout haze on tile, adhesive from stickers and protective film, caulk smears, and fingerprints on new cabinets and appliances. We use the right tools for each surface so new finishes aren’t scratched.
For contractors
Working with contractors and builders
We schedule around your punch list and walkthrough date. Tell us when trades will finish, whether fixtures are still to be installed, and the handover date, and we plan rough, final and touch-up cleans to fit. Debris removal can be booked with the clean, so the site is cleared and cleaned by one crew.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
How much does post-construction cleaning cost in Sacramento?
+
From $299 for a small remodel, $499 for a full home and $699 for new construction.
Why does construction dust need more than one pass?
+
Drywall and sanding dust stays airborne and settles again after the first wipe, so we finish with a final pass.
Do you work with contractors?
+
Yes. We schedule around your final walkthrough and return for touch-ups.
Do you haul away construction debris too?
+
Yes. Debris removal is priced by truck space, from $75, and can be done before the clean.
How long does post-construction cleaning take?
+
A small remodel usually takes a few hours. A full home or new build can take one to two days with a full crew.
Do you clean after small projects like a bathroom remodel?
+
Yes. Single-room remodels are one of the most common post-construction jobs we do, and they’re priced at our small remodel rate.
Do you bring your own supplies and equipment?
+
Yes. The crew brings everything needed for fine construction dust, from vacuums to detail tools.
Can you clean while the contractor finishes small items?
+
We can, but dust from final work will settle again. Booking the final clean after the punch list is complete gives the best result.
