Junk removal crew hauling furniture from a home

Why Apex Home Point

Clear it out, then clean it: one crew

We’re the Sacramento junk removal company that also cleans. Landlords, realtors and families clearing a home can book the haul-out and a move-out or deep clean together: one appointment, one invoice.

What affects the price

  • Size and material (metal sheds break down smaller than wood)
  • Whether the shed is full
  • Access from the backyard to the street
  • Concrete or anchors that need removing

How it’s done

How we take down a shed or playset

  1. 1Empty the contents, or let us haul them as part of the same load.
  2. 2Remove doors, windows and roofing, then panel the walls down one side at a time.
  3. 3Separate metal, clean wood and general debris so recyclable material isn’t landfilled.
  4. 4Pull nails and screws from the ground area and rake the spot clean.

Wood playsets are often bolted together with long lag bolts and anchored with stakes; we unbolt where we can and cut where we must. Trampolines are disassembled, and the springs and steel frame go to metal recycling.

Typical prices

StructureTypical loadPrice
Small plastic or resin shed¼–½ truck$150–$375
8×10 metal shed½ truck$250–$375

A shed full of contents may need more space. Concrete slabs and pier blocks are quoted separately because they’re heavy.

Many people mix options: they use the free curbside pickup for one bulky item, and book us for the rest of the garage or the heavy pieces upstairs.

What to expect

How a junk pickup works, start to finish

  1. 1You text a photo or book a time. We reply with a price range based on how much truck space the load looks like it needs.
  2. 2We call or text when the crew is on the way, inside the arrival window you picked.
  3. 3The crew looks at everything in person and gives a firm price before anything is lifted. If it’s less than the range, you pay less; if you decide not to go ahead, there’s no charge.
  4. 4We carry everything out (from bedrooms, upstairs, the garage, the backyard or a storage unit) and protect doorways and floors along the way.
  5. 5We sweep or rake the spot where the items were, then sort the load: donation, recycling, and only what’s left goes to a licensed transfer station.

Most single-item and small-load pickups take under an hour on site. A full garage or a whole-home cleanout usually takes a few hours to a full day, depending on how much sorting you want done on the spot.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How much does shed removal cost?

+

Usually $250–$600 including demolition and hauling. Text a photo for an exact price.

Do I need a permit to remove a shed?

+

Removing a small detached shed usually doesn’t need a permit, but sheds with electrical wiring need the power disconnected by an electrician first. Check with your city if the shed was permitted.

Can you remove a shed that’s still full?

+

Yes. We empty it, haul the contents and then take the shed down. Contents add to the load price.

How long does shed removal take?

+

Most sheds and playsets take two to four hours.

Do you remove gravel or pavers under the shed?

+

Small amounts, yes. Large amounts of gravel, rock or concrete are heavy and quoted separately.

Do I need to be home for shed removal?

+

Not if we can reach the backyard. Leave the gate unlocked, tell us about pets and sprinklers, and we’ll send photos when the job is done.

Can you remove a shed that has collapsed?

+

Yes. Collapsed or storm-damaged sheds are cleared the same way, and we take extra care with broken glass, nails and sharp metal.

Can you remove a playset that’s set in concrete?

+

Yes. We cut the posts at ground level and haul the structure. Pulling concrete footings out completely is heavier work and is quoted separately.

Do you remove old greenhouses and gazebos?

+

Yes. Metal and wood frames are taken apart and recycled where possible; glass panels are handled separately.
